Tips and Hints for Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Success

Call of Duty: WWII was undoubtedly one of the most popular releases last year and, if you’re just getting into it, you’ll soon start to understand why. While you can play the game on your own, the best fun comes when you get together in teams. Multiplayer modes can be challenging at first and there are several to choose from. Taking the right approach in each is critical to any successful campaign.

Here’s our quick guide:

Team Deathmatch

  • What is it? The most common set up on Call of Duty, your job is simple – kill as many of the enemy as possible as quickly as possible.
  • Our top tip: The team that stays close together has an advantage. Stray too far from your buddies and you can quickly find yourself picked off.

Hardpoint

  • What is it? This is a single location on the war map and you get points for occupying that space. It’s time sensitive so you have to keep an eye on that while you are fighting to gain a footing.
  • Our top tip: Keep track of the time and move out before it’s up if you want to get to the next zone quicker than the opposition.

Domination

  • What is it? There’s not just one position you need to control here but three. This is a little more complicated than Hardpoint and can lead to a high body count if you get it wrong.
  • Our top tip: If you snooze you lose and it’s highly advantageous to keep moving as much and as quickly as possible. Never wait until the enemy team comes to you, always take the initiative.

Search and Destroy

  • What is it? One team plants the bombs the other needs to defend against them. This is a fairly simple if challenging mode with 6 players on each side.
  • Our top tip: Again, there’s safety in numbers – try to keep your team in close proximity as much as possible.

War

  • What is it? You’re either a defender or attacker and there are multiple stages on the map which requires you to be flexible and agile, while also trying not to get shot.
  • Our top tip: The biggest issue is that it’s timed so keep an eye on the minutes left. For those defending, winning is a matter of warding off an attack until the clock ticks over.

Gridiron

  • What is it? Mixing American football with war is a new addition – you have to get the ball from A to B while the enemy tries to stop you.
  • Our top tip: Concentrate on who is carrying the ball and go for that rather than worrying about anything else.

Kill Confirmed

  • What is it? You need to collect the dog tags of your kills in this slightly more gruesome part of the game and everyone’s tally contributes towards the team total.
  • Our top tip: Watch out for your enemy trying to steal their team’s dog tags and adding to their own score while detracting from yours.

Free-For-All

  • What is it? Exactly what it says on the tin – there’s no team work and no co-operation and you’re on your own. It’s a wild west shootout and only the brave and reckless survive.
  • Our top tip: Be prepared for mayhem. The game is usually highly paced and it’s often down to luck whether you survive or not. Eyes in the back of your head are useful.
